The Portuguese was shown a straight red for a late challenge on Andy Cole.

Wednesday, August 15, 2007 – Portsmouth 1-1 Manchester United 

Ronaldo was shown a straight red card and handed three-match ban for an apparent headbutt on Portsmouth midfielder Richard Hughes.

Sunday, November 30, 2008 – Manchester City 0-1 Manchester United 

The attacking ace saw red in yet another Manchester derby, this time for two bookable offences after a trip on Shaun Wright-Phillips and then an inexcusable handball.

December 5, 2009 – Real Madrid 4-2 Almeria 

A first red card in La Liga came in his debut season in Madrid for two late bookings after he had first missed a penalty and also scored Los Blancos’ fourth goal in a 4-2 win.

Arguably his most violent dismissal to date in his career, Ronaldo was given his marching orders as he kicked out at Cordoba defender Edimar.

August 13, 2017 – Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid
