England need just 10 wickets to secure victory on the fourth day of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.

Keaton Jennings batted with dogged determination for more than six hours in Galle, finishing 146 not out having painstakingly manoeuvred his team into a winning position over Sri Lanka on day three of the first Test.

The opening batsman was ably assisted by Ben Stokes, who scored a half-century, and handy thirties from Jos Buttler and Ben Foakes as England amassed 322 for six declared.

That meant that the hosts were set the unenviable task of trying to score a world-record 462 runs to win.

Sri Lanka managed to negotiate the remainder of the third day without a scare, with Dimuth Karunaratne and Kaushal Silva starting the day at the crease.
