Tony Cascarino makes worrying prediction for Man Utd, Arsenal and Tottenham

“They will be about six points clear of Liverpool and Chelsea, but then there will be a similar gap, if not greater, between those two and the rest of the big six.”

As for who could go down, Cascarino identified Cardiff, Huddersfield, Fulham and Southampton as the teams in trouble.

“Cardiff City are in real trouble. Huddersfield are so light on goals, with six in their first 12 games, and there is no obvious answer as to where more would come from,” he said.

“Claudio Ranieri has come in at Fulham but the issues run a bit deeper than just the manager. I think there is a discrepancy between the wages of some of the older players who got Fulham into the top flight and the new players signed at great expense in the summer.

“Southampton’s hopes are on a knife edge. Mark Hughes saved them last season and is one of few firefighters from last year who actually kept their job, but one or two more bad results and he will be out.”
