What Liverpool, Tottenham, Man Utd and Man City need in Champions League explained

Manchester City

Group F leaders City secured progression to the last 16 as they drew 2-2 at Lyon on Tuesday night.

They are three points clear of the second-placed French side and will seal top spot if they draw their last pool match, at home against Hoffenheim on December 12, or if Lyon do not win theirs, at Shakhtar Donetsk.

Manchester United

United, second in Group H, qualified on Tuesday following a 1-0 home win over Young Boys.

Currently two points behind Juventus, the Red Devils will leapfrog them into first if they win at Valencia and the Serie A club do not beat Young Boys away.
