And Di Canio fears Sarri could go the same way as former Chelsea bosses Conte and Mourinho if they lose.
Conte was sacked at the end of last season after the club failed to challenge for the Premier League title.
Mourinho, meanwhile, was axed in December 2015 despite steering them to the crown seven months previously.
And Di Canio said: “Chelsea? The opposite would have been better: a slow start and continuous growth.
“Now the path has almost stopped and there is an involution. For players like Hazard and Willian, it is also difficult to pass the opponent.
“There are many games in this period and the other teams do not give up anything. Sarri will have to be careful.
