Arsene Wenger could return to management in surprising role as Qatar head coach

The Middle East nation will hold a November-December World Cup in 2022, and currently have Spaniard Felix Sanchez, who has coached the nation’s youth sides from Under-19 to senior, at the helm.

The Qatar FA want a change of face ahead of the biggest sporting competition in their country’s history, however.

“In preparation for the 2022 World Cup, Qatar would like to have a big name on the bench of its national team,” France Football reported.

But Wenger was not top of the wish list, originally.
