As for the returns, the official United statement read: “We have activated the recall clause in Joel Pereira’s loan agreement with Vitoria Setubal, ending his temporary spell in Portugal.
“The talented 22-year-old keeper, who enjoyed a senior Reds debut against Wigan Athletic in 2017, made 10 appearances in all competitions for Vitoria, during a second stint in the Primeira Liga after previously spending time with Belenenses.
“Meanwhile, the paperwork has been completed for Matty Willock head back from Scotland after St Mirren activated the termination clause in his loan agreement.
“The 22-year-old midfielder, whose brother Joe scored twice for Arsenal in their Emirates FA Cup win at Blackpool last weekend, appeared 14 times for the Buddies after a similar move to St Johnstone in 2018.”
Willock was brought in by former manager Alan Stubbs in July but the move hasn’t worked out with St Mirren sitting sit bottom of the Scottish Premiership.
“The club would like to thank Matty for his contributions and wish him well for his future career,” St Mirren said in a statement last month.
