Tottenham Hotspur will complete a deal to sign Jack Grealish next week having begun talks with Aston Villa, according to The Mirror.

The 22-year-old is destined to leave Villa Park this summer after the club failed to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

Grealish scored three goals and made eight assists as Villa reached the Championship play-off final but they lost to Fulham at Wembley.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for the England Under-21 international, who is valued at £20m by Steve Bruce’s side.

Bruce appeared to pre-empt Grealish’s exit this summer after admitting the club’s finances would mean he would have to be sold.

‘I have enjoyed working with Jack, and Jack is the obvious one that clubs [are going to target] because he had a wonderful six months,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘He reminded everybody as a 22-year-old what a very good player he is.

‘On another day at Wembley (Play-Off final versus Fulham) he could have scored one of the great Wembley goals.

‘He is a special talent, a real special talent, and yes, you don’t want to lose him but the inevitable thing is we have to.

‘We have to – to keep the club up and running and keep it in line with Financial Fair Play.’

An Egyptian consortium is in talks to takeover the Midlands club which is expected to alleviate their financial issues.

However, Grealish is still expected to leave and with officials from Tottenham and Villa in talks a deal is expected to be struck in the next seven days.

Spurs will offer Grealish a five-year deal and though they will look to conclude the deal soon he is unlikely to be involved in their pre-season tour to the United States.

They face Roma, Barcelona and AC Milan in the International Champions Cup before their Premier League opener against Newcastle United on 11 August.

The news comes after Tottenham tied Son Heung-Min down to a new contract until 2023, with Erik Lamela expected to follow in the coming days.

Former Milan defender Luca Antonini believes Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is eager for San Siro move

Former AC Milan defender Luca Antonini believes Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata already has his heart set on a move to the San Siro.

The Rossoneri are eager to bring in another striker to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Morata, who spent two seasons in Italy with Juventus between 2014 and 2016, has been heavily linked with a move with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting a meeting between the striker, his agent and Milan directors Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli in London this week.

The Spain international enjoyed a bright start to life at Stamford Bridge following his arrival from Real Madrid last summer but lost his spot in the Blues first-team to Olivier Giroud during the second half of the campaign.

With Maurizio Sarri’s side now hopeful of signing Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus, Morata’s future at the club has grown increasingly uncertain.

Speaking to RMC, former Milan star Antonini encouraged the Serie A giants to pursue a move for the Spaniard over one for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, believing both the player and club are desperate for the deal to be done.

‘I think Morata and Milan have already chosen [each other]. Clearly there is the need to convince Chelsea, who hold his registration,’ Antonini said.

‘As far as I am concerned, I see the Spaniard as more suitable for Milan than a player like Benzema.’

Chelsea meanwhile have also been linked with a move for Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, should they lose Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.

A potential swap deal involving the 19-year-old shot stopper and Morata could be an option, according to recent reports in the Italian press.

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo told his new club to sign Real Madrid star Marcelo within 24 hours of joining the club.

Ronaldo, 33, completed a £99million move to the Old Lady last week after deciding to leave Madrid after nine years at the Bernabeu.

The Portugal international holds practically every club record at Madrid but his four-year deal at Juventus suggests he thinks he can continue at the top for years to come.

Ronaldo was a mainstay throughout his tenure at Madrid as players came and went but Marcelo was there from the very start and the pair were close friends in the Spanish capital.

And, according to Spanish outlet Sport, Ronaldo told Juventus to sign Marcelo on the day he completed his move to the club.

Marcelo fueled rumours that he could follow Ronaldo to Juventus by saying: ‘Soon we’ll be together again’ when Madrid confirmed the Portuguese was leaving.

Manchester United target Alex Sandro is Juventus’ current first choice left-back but the Brazilian’s been heavily linked with a move to both the Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain.

Marcelo made an unexpected return to Madrid’s training ground this week to speak to new boss Julen Lopetegui.

Lopetegui replaced Zinedine Zidane after the Frenchman stepped down following three seasons at the Bernabeu.

Erik Lamela has become the latest player to commit their future to Tottenham Hotspur after the winger agreed a two-year extension to his contract in north London.

The 26-year-old will remain with Mauricio Pochettino’s men until 2022 after five years with the club.

Lamela moved to Tottenham for a then club-record £25.8m from Roma and has made 154 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and make 38 assists.

He returned last season from over a year out with a hip problem to make 33 outings for Tottenham, scoring four times, but was unable to force his way into Argentina’s World Cup squad.

‘I am delighted to sign my new contract,’ he said. ‘I hope to see you next season in the new stadium. I can’t wait.’

Following a summer of rest and recuperation, Lamela is expected to be involved in Tottenham’s pre-season tour to the United States which sees them play in the International Champions Cup.

The news follows Son Heung-Min agreeing fresh terms with Tottenham, keeping him at the club until 2023 after signing a new three-year contract.

Everton close in on £50m Richarlison transfer

Everton expect to complete a £50million deal for Watford forward Richarlison in a club record deal.

The Brazilian joined the Hornets last summer for around £11.5m with Watford beating a host of clubs to sign the Fluminense winger on a five-year deal.

Richarlison started the season in blistering fashion, scoring five goals in his first 11 starts in England.

However, his form dipped massively in the second half of the season following the departure of Marco Silva.

Silva, though, has no doubts about the Brazilian’s talent and the Daily Mail claim the Toffees are close to a £50m deal.

The transfer, which could rise to £50m, would surpass the £45m that Everton paid Swansea for Gylfi Sigurdsson last summer in a club record move.

Richarlison’s move would mean Watford have made close to a £40m profit on the 21-year-old in just 12 months.

Arsenal could land Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele on ONE condition

Arsenal’s hopes of signing France star Ousmane Dembele hinge on Barcelona’s decision whether to send the winger on loan this summer.

The Gunners’ head of recruitment Sven Mislintat signed Dembele for Dortmund when the winger emerged as one of the most exciting players in Europe with Rennes in France.

Dortmund were powerless to stop Dembele joining Barcelona for around £110m in 2017 but the Frenchman had a difficult first season at the Camp Nou.

Mislintat believes Dembele is perfect for the Emirates but Barcelona are unwilling to let him leave permanently and the Gunners couldn’t finance a deal for the 21-year-old.

However, Football.London claims the only possibility of Arsenal landing the winger this summer is if Barcelona allow him to leave the club on loan.

Unai Emery has made five signings so far since his appointment at Arsenal.

Bernd Leno, Sokratis, Stephan Lichsteiner, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guenzouzi have all joined.

However, the Spaniard is determined to sign at least two more players but may have to offload the likes of Danny Welbeck and Nacho Monreal in order to raise funds for new arrivals.

Manchester United confident of signing Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld

Manchester United have not given up on signing Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld and still believe a deal can be done for the Belgium international.

United held talks with Tottenham at the end of last season and had hoped to conclude a £50m deal for Alderweireld before the World Cup.

However, Spurs demanded £75m for the 29-year-old and United are unwilling to stretch that far for a player that is available for £25m in 12 months time thanks to a clause in his contract.

United have explored other options, including AC Milan star Leonardo Bonucci but Alderweireld remains the Red Devils’ main target.

United have not renewed talks with Spurs since May but the Independent claim the Red Devils are still confident a deal can be done for Alderweireld.

Spurs sold Kyle Walker to Manchester City last summer for £50m and there’s a feeling that the club couldn’t reject a similar amount for a player available for half the price next summer.

Alderweireld fell out of favour in north London last season and was replaced by Davinson Sanchez in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI.

Mourinho dampened speculation that Alderweireld could join the club by confirming his starting defence for their Premier League opener against Leicester.

‘Valencia, Smalling, Bailly and Shaw, they are probably the ones to start the season,’ Mourinho said on Friday.

United have signed Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant so far this summer but Mourinho remains keen on signing a defender and a back-up forward.

Alderweireld has two weeks remaining of his summer holidays following his involvement in the World Cup and is unlikely to start the Premier League campaign regardless of which club he’s at.
